I had an extremely poor time with Kevin.
When works started, I had offered an extremely generous package. They said they would provide plant and machinery for their works. They were ill-equipped.
They had told me to order thousands of pounds worth of GROUNDWORK materials for the following week to carry out works.
After the report from my site foreman, it had appeared that there was extremely poor workmanship. I sacked Kevin one week after his appointment (Sunday!).
Payment had been made the following day (Monday) to settle accounts. Surprisingly, his wife called me to follow up with the payment even though I had no previous interaction telling me what an amazing person Kevin was.
After Kevin had been sacked on Sunday and paid IN FULL on Monday, thousands of pounds worth of GROUNDWORK MATERIALS had gone missing (TUESDAY). Also a LORRY STRAP that Kevin left behind on the PREVIOUS FRIDAY had gone missing. He also failed to provide me with ALL the names and contact details of his groundworkers that were working on my site!
I reported the theft to the police. Kevin had ALREADY PREPARED A STATEMENT ready to hand into the police. Who writes a statement following a theft if they had not committed the crime nor been accused by the police?
In summary, I had an abysmal time with Kevin. He delayed my construction which had been very costly and caused a lot of panic.
I would avoid Kevin at all costs!
