Our Story

Ethel’s Pies was launched in September 2019 by Noelle and Graham Lonsdale.

For thirty years, Noelle worked in Environmental Health, whilst Graham worked in the Shoe Trade, alongside raising their five children (which, along the way, included dogs, chickens, ducks, rabbits and hamsters - oh my!) After the children had grown and left home, it was finally time to try something new, and thus, Ethel’s Pies, lovingly named after Graham’s mother (who made magnificent pies), was born!

Initially starting at food festivals and markets, Ethel’s Pies have grown rapidly and, alongside a broad menu of Taste-award winning pies, we offer a range of ‘good for the soul’ goodies that utilise the very best of local produce and our trademark approach - sausage rolls, pasties, bakes and slices, and veg, fruit and salad boxes, to name a few!

Nestled happily in the countryside of the Hampshire, Wiltshire and Berkshire border, our story is an integral part of who we are. We pool our experience and expertise from our previous professions, alongside thirty years of cooking for a large family (of four ever-growing boys and a lovely girl!) to bring high-quality, delicious and hearty food that people love, to everyone from across the area and beyond.

We proudly cater for any event or occasion, big or small. Whether you’re looking for a rustic dinner of pies, mash and gravy during your wedding reception, a surprise bespoke birthday basket delivered to a friend, or a nutritious and colourful ‘five-a-day’ box, we are always happy to help. We pride ourselves on really getting to know our customers and adopt a personal approach to everyone we work with, which is why we are delighted that we receive regular repeat orders and recommendations.

So, please feel free to contact us at any point - we would be delighted for you to be part of our story. After all, the pie’s the limit!
